October Dog Walking Challenge

Challenge yourself this October and help raise vital funds for babies, children and young people living with life-limiting conditions.
Whether your canine companion likes to strut through the park, waddle around the neighbourhood or trek in the countryside, you can complete your 70 miles, however and whenever, throughout the month.

Do I have to walk for this challenge?

 As the miles need to be completed with your canine companion, it needs to be an activity suitable for them too. This could include running, or Cani cross, but always keep the safety and health of yourself and your dog in mind dog in mind.

How do I record my distance?

You can record your walks using our editable distance tacker. Alternatively, you can sync your smartwatch or fitness app (like Strava, Fitbit, Garmin, or Apple Health) to automatically update your progress. 

How do I fundraise?

When you register for the challenge by creating an account on the website, your fundraising page is automatically setup. You can access this at any time, and the page has built in links that can be easily shared across all social media platforms.  

Do I need to provide proof of my walks?

There’s no need to prove the distance you have completed; however, as mentioned above, you may want to record your progress to share with your supporters.

Is there a certain time and place I need to be for the event?

As this challenge is virtual, you can complete the walks anywhere in the world and at your own pace. 

How do I receive my medal?

Once you complete the challenge distance, let us know and we’ll send your physical medal and certificate in the post. 

Is there a minimum sponsorship amount?

We encourage supporters to raise £100 minimum.

How long does it take to complete the challenge?

How you complete the 70 miles is entirely up to you. All you must ensure is that you complete the distance within October.  

Are there any incentives for this challenge?

When you sign up, you’ll receive A CHSW buff and bandana for your dog.  

Can I sign up more than one dog?

Yes, just let us know the names of your dogs when signing up. They’ll each get a bandana and will have their nameon the completion certificates.  

Can children sign up to the October Dog Walking Challenge?

Children can absolutely take part, but they need to be signed up and accompanied on the challenge by an adult. 

Can I participate with a team?

Yes, we welcome teams for this challenge.
