Running 12 miles!

Sunday 27th Sep
How Did Running 12 Miles Become a Good Idea?! 🏃‍♂️

Hi! I'm 10 years old and my school has decided that we are going to run 12 miles to raise money for our local hospice.

When my school first told us about it, I thought:

“12 miles? That's quite a long way.”

Then I realised they actually meant 12 miles - 12 WHOLE MILES. 😳

But we have been running it at school daily and building the miles up!

I thought it would be a great challenge to have a go at, especially because we're raising money for such an important cause.

The hospice helps people and their families at some of the hardest times in their lives, so I think it's really good that our school is doing something to help them.

Training has begun... daily when at school and it has become easier at the days go on.

When you're sitting down thinking about running, it doesn't seem too bad.

When you're actually running...

YOUR LEGS HAVE A DIFFERENT OPINION.

At the moment, my training involves lots of running, trying to get fitter and convincing myself that I really can run 12 miles.

There have definitely been moments when I've thought:

“Why did my school think this was a good idea?” 😂

But I'm getting there.

The big challenge

I'm excited for the day, to complete the 12 miles.

It's not just about running.

It's about raising money for the hospice and helping people who really need it.

And hopefully having some fun along the way!

So if you can sponsor me, I'd be really grateful.

I'll do the 12 miles. You just have to donate.

Seems fair to me. 😎

Thank you for supporting me and all of us at school taking on the challenge.

Now...

WHERE ARE THE SNACKS? 🍫🏃‍♂️
